HOW TO MOVE AN EMAIL ACCOUNT FROM ONE SERVER TO ANOTHER? [STEP BY STEP]☑️

Today in this documentation we will cover the process involved in moving an email account from one cPanel to another cPanel. Moving an Email Account from one server to another can easily be done by performing the steps mentioned in this guide.

HOW TO TRANSFER/MIGRATE EMAILS FROM ONE CPANEL TO ANOTHER

Before getting started let us assume that we have two things:

OLD SERVER = Server that the email account is currently on and will soon be moved from

NEW SERVER = Server that you want to move the email account to

I will be using the terms OLD SERVER and NEW SERVER a lot in this article.

Now let’s begin this!!!

Follow the steps given below to move an email account from one server to another:

Step::1 Login to cPanel (OLD SERVER)

Step::2 Click on the File Manager option under the Files section

Step::3 Navigate to the Mail directory

Step::4 Jump into the directory of that Email account you want to move

Step::5 There you will see a bunch of files. All you need to do is download all the files present inside new and cur directories in zip format.

[NOTE: Look for the zip file in your PC and rename the file into something like xyz.zip so that it did not create any mess while getting uploaded. I am saying this because i have faced difficulty while uploading the downloaded file on the new server due to incorrect file name format as it contained commas(,) dash(-) in between it’s name which i have not noticed. Thereafter i renamed the file to drafts.zip and it gets uploaded ]

Step::6 Now login to the cPanel (NEW SERVER)

Step::7 Create the Email accounts with the same Address ,Password and Mail quota. You can create email accounts from the ‘Email Accounts’ section under the ‘Mail’ category.
