How to Fix-application/x/httpd-php file getting download issue while opening website? [FIXED]☑️
Today in this tutorial you will learn how to fix file (application/x/httpd-php) getting download issue while opening website. This issue generally occurs due to AddType module in htaccess file which causes page to download instead of executing. Here you can also watch the video on how to fix this issue.
Follow the steps to fix file download issue while opening a website:
Step::1 Login to cPanel
Step::2 Click on File Manager in FILES section
Step::3 Go to public_html
Step::4 Edit .htaccess file
Step::5 Remove the lines given below from .htaccess file
<If Module mime_module> AddHandler application/x-httpd-alt-php54 .php .php7 .phtml </If Module>
Step::6 Save the file and close the editor
In case if this method doesn’t work then try the other method given below:
Go to the .htaccess file present outside public_html and right click to Edit Remove the same lines here as well and click on save.
If the problem is yet not resolved then reach out to the MultiPHP Manager in SOFTWARE section and try changing the PHP versions randomly.
It is very obvious that one or the other php version might resolve the issue. However if none of the method works try to rename the .htaccess file and check the website in new tab.
Hope this helps!!!
