How to Import Products in Magento?

Magento is an E-commerce platform that allows user to set up their online store. We have shared tutorials related to its installation.

Here, in this tutorial we will discuss the procedure to import products in Magento. You may check the video tutorial as well describing the procedure.

• Login to Magento dashboard with the login credentials.

• From left panel, go to CATALOG & then Categories.

  

• You will be directed to the page where you can create or add Root and Subcategory as per your requirement.
• Click over the Category which you want to add and enter its details as directed in below image.

  

• Click over Save to add category. You will receive a message of confirmation. Refer to the above mentioned image.
• Again scroll down to CATALOG section and then select Products.

  

• On the next page, click over Add Product and proceed.

  

• On the next page, enter the product details as per your requirement to manage the product & its related details.
• Click over Save to update the changes.

  

• Now, you will receive a message that “You saved the product”.
• The new created product will appear on the Products page.

  

• Now, go to SYSTEM section in the left panel and select Import from the list as directed.

  

• On the next page, select the Entity Type from the drop down and Download Sample File in your local PC.

  

• Now, open downloaded Excel file in Local PC and add or update your own product in same format.
• After adding products, save the file in .csv format and  proceed.
• Now, again go back to Magento dashboard and select Import from SYSTEM section.
• Scroll down to Import Behavior section on the next page and select Add/Update  from drop down list.
• Browse file from your local PC in File to import section & proceed.

  

• Click over Check Data  and proceed. Magento will scan the uploaded file.
• After checking you will receive an update as shown in the below image. Click over Import to import the updated file.

  

• You will receive a message that “Import successfully done”.
• Now, you can see list of all products in Products section.
