An A record, also known as an address record, is a part of your server’s DNS zone files. The A entry points a hostname or domain to an IP address, which allows other computers to find your server on the Internet.
Steps to create “A Records” in cPanel: [Updated May 2021]
To create an A record in cPanel, please follow these steps:
- Sign in to your cPanel account.
- Under the “Domains” section, click on the “Advanced Zone Editor” icon.
- Select your domain from the drop-down menu.
- In the “Add an A Record” section, type in the name and address, you wish to use.
- Press the “Add A Record” button to save your changes.
Steps to create “A Records” in WHM: [Updated May 2021]
step#1-Login to your WHM as an administrator.
step#2-Scroll down to the DNS Functions section and click Edit DNS Zone.
step#3-Select the domain that you want to edit the DNS of and click the Edit button.
step#4-Scroll down and make any changes to the DNS Records that you need to and then Click on “Save”
However if you don’t have access to WHM, this can also be also done through cPanel by going inside “Advance Zone editor” Procedure would be the same as in WHM.
